Meat Rabbits

Martin has entered the world of the meat rabbit. After meeting someone in the local village of Braidwood who was growing them, he thought he would try raising some. Not content with a few local meat rabbits,he has sourced some bred by the CSIRO for their excellent feed conversion and productivity, and had them flown in. We are now waiting for the first litter of baby bunnies (the real first lot died of cold while I was looking after them when Martin was in Mount Isa). We have set up a heat lamp and have the pens organised to ensure the best survival outcome. If we are successful we will be able to supply ourselves and our friends with rabbit for the table. I am also thinking it would be good to tan the hides and make a quilt as they have the most beautiful fur colours.

Hello,

I am looking for pure breed NZ rabbits to ship to the Philippines. Till now I only found crossbreed and there much smaller than the original.
Do you, or do you know breeders with pure NZ rabbits who also ship them?.

Thanks and regards

Hi, I am interested in starting to breed meat rabbits for the table for our family. What breed are your rabbits & what weight do they achieve.
Would it be possible to buy a breeding trio from you?
I live in the Byron Bay shire.
Thank you, John

You gust are all disgusting selfish pigs. You all clearly know nothing about the wellbeing or rabbits, nor do you care. I’ll be handing in this website to rspca to start an investigation, and hopefully have all these rabbits rescued and rehomed to responsible owners who won’t kill these poor sick babies. Any wire with rough edges or sharp spots, or excessively rusty wire should not be used for the bottom of a rabbit cage. Wood slats or plastic grids can also be appropriate surfaces for rabbits, as long as there is enough support for the feet and no rough surfaces or splinters, and they are able to be kept clean. Wire bottom will give them sore hocks.
