What plant is this?

I photographed this climber by the side of the road. Very pretty, but have no idea what it is. Is it a native or introduced plant?

I think this may be a native Clematis ... bit hard to determine which one exactly but possibly C. aristata (bronze/green foliage either single or trifoliate leaves, large white shiny flowers in spring & summer, followed by fluffy seed heads as described in Choosing & Growing Native Plants) I used to see this a lot riding in forest areas on the Central Coast NSW.
